Delta is currently testing complimentary meals in the Main Cabin on Transcon flights between New York-JFK and Los Angeles International Airport/San Francisco International Airport as part of the airline’s focus on continually looking at ways to enhance the on-board experience for customers.
During the test period, which began on Nov. 1 and will continue through Dec. 15, customer satisfaction scores are being closely monitored to determine the impact on the in-flight experience.
“We are constantly actively listening to our customers and employees, gathering their feedback and testing new products on board to continuously improve the overall experience,” said Allison Ausband, Delta’s Senior Vice President – In-Flight Service. “Testing meals on Transcon flights is part of our commitment to be thoughtful about our offerings and make decisions based on customers’ needs.”
On flights that are participating in the testing, the complimentary meals include the option of a Honey Maple Breakfast Sandwich or Luvo Breakfast Medley on morning flights and an option of Mesquite-Smoked Turkey Combo with chips and a brownie bite or Luvo Mediterranean Whole Grain Veggie Wrap with grapes and a cookie on afternoon flights.
Results from the current testing will be evaluated along with other factors to determine whether or not the airline will implement complimentary fresh meals in the Main Cabin on Transcon flights. Additional details will be shared once the results of the testing have been reviewed and a go-forward plan has been finalized.
