Michael Campbell is executive vice president – Human Resources and Labor Relations.

Delta’s unique culture of positive employee relations has thrived under Mike’s leadership. Mike has been instrumental in preserving and maintaining an inclusive culture, where employees across all workgroups, together with management, are treated respectfully and engaged on initiatives that are rewarding for both the company and its people.

Under Mike’s leadership, Delta has implemented programs for sharing company success with employees at all levels, including profit sharing, stock awards and monthly payouts for non-management employees based on key operational metrics. He also established employee-led nonprofit funds, including the Employee & Retiree Care Fund which provides financial assistance to those facing an unexpected crisis, and Delta Scholarship Fund which provides academic scholarships to qualified employees and their family members.

Mike joined Delta in 2006 from the Atlanta-based law firm Ford & Harrison LLP, where he was a founding partner and provided labor counsel to Fortune 500 companies for 25 years. He also held a similar position at Continental Airlines where, for six of his eight years there, Fortune Magazine selected the company among the 100 Best Places to Work.

Mike served as President of the Airline Industrial Relations Conference (AIR Conference) in 2001, 2010 and 2011, and has co-authored a book, Legislative History of the Railway Labor Act.

Mike graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Richmond in 1971 and received his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1974. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
