STUTTGART, Nov. 21 2012 – Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) is introducing its new full-flat bed BusinessElite seats on flights between Stuttgart International Airport and Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport this autumn, as part of its ongoing plan to invest more than $3 billion in enhanced global products, services and airport facilities through to 2014.
The upgraded seats are available now, complementing the existing full-flat bed services on all Delta flights from Frankfurt and Munich. The flight currently operates five times weekly increasing to daily throughout the summer season using a Boeing 767-300 aircraft with 210 seats in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Air France KLM.
“Delta’s frequent business travellers tell us that the comfort of flat bed seats with direct aisle access is a must-have on flights to and from the U.S.,” said Perry Cantarutti, Delta’s Senior Vice President Europe, Middle East and Africa. “The design of Delta’s new BusinessElite seats optimizes each passenger’s space, giving them privacy to work or relax in order to arrive at their destination ready for a day’s business.”
Customers flying in BusinessElite on Delta flights between Stuttgart and the U.S. will enjoy forward-facing seats that convert to a 180-degree fully flat-bed and offer direct aisle access in a 1x2x1 configuration. All feature a 10.6” individual screen and a broad range of on demand entertainment in addition to a 110v AC power source and USB port. In-seat audio and video on demand have also been added throughout Economy class. Passengers in Germany are also able to take advantage of paperless eBoarding check-in options.
Customers flying in Economy Comfort, Delta’s premium economy service, benefit from up to four additional inches of legroom and 50 percent more recline than Delta’s standard international Economy class seats. Customers seated in Economy Comfort also board early and enjoy complimentary spirits throughout the flight.
Other product initiatives being rolled out across Delta’s international fleet include the expansion of Wi-Fi service from 2013. The introduction of Wi-Fi on Delta operated flights between Germany and the U.S. will enable customers to get online throughout their journey.
For passengers travelling to Atlanta, the airport has also seen some recent changes. The new international terminal Concourse F,adjoins the existing concourse E and has 12 gates. The new terminal eliminates the need for Atlanta-destined passengers torecheck their baggage. Inside Concourse F, the newest Delta Sky Club® features seating and ample space for more than 300 guests, world-class amenities including eight shower suites, multiple work areas and art designed to capture the spirit of Delta’s international destinations. The Club also offers The Luxury Bar with premium wines, champagne and spirits available for purchase. Windows across the Club offer mezzanine-level views of Delta’s operations in Atlanta.
