Delta Air Lines and GOL Announce Additional Benefits for Elite Frequent Flyers

High value customers to experience enhanced services on and off the ground

ATLANTA and SAO PAULO, Brazil, Jan. 29, 2013— Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) and GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A. (BM&FBovespa: GOLL4 and NYSE: GOL) announced the alignment of benefits between each other’s frequent flyer program, SkyMiles and SMILES. The alignment of benefits between both programs will provide high value customers an unparalleled and consistent experience at airports and in flight.   

“For the past year GOL and Delta have been working together to bring more benefits to our most loyal customers. The changes we are announcing today for Delta’s Diamond, Platinum and Gold elite members include priority check-in and boarding on GOL’s flights,” said Nicolas Ferri, VP for Delta’s Latin America and Caribbean division. “Likewise, GOL’s Smiles Diamond elite members will have access to those same benefits through Delta’s Sky Priority services. GOL and Delta will continue to work on finding ways to deliver always the best services to our high value customers.

Delta’s Sky Priority is a series of distinctively branded priority airport services designed for high value customers, allowing them to move quickly through the airport.   

“Also, we are offering complimentary access to our airport VIP Lounges in Sao Paulo (Guarulhos International Airport) and Rio de Janeiro (Galeão International Airport) to Delta’s Diamond, Platinum and Gold SkyMiles Medallion members. Likewise, Delta’s Sky Club’s in Atlanta, New York (JFK) and Detroit are available to SMILES Diamond clients at no charge”, said SMILES’s VP, Flavio Vargas. “Business travelers appreciate the hospitality of VIP Lounges as they provide a variety of services and the opportunity for guests to refresh and recharge in between flights.”  

Sky Priority for GOL Diamond members is valid only on Delta-operated and Delta-marketed flights with the exception of a few cities where check-in is performed by other partners.

Delta’s partnership with GOL allows Delta to offer access to more interior Brazil points than any other U.S. airline. Delta customers can travel to 21 cities through Brazil covering 99 percent of the destinations passengers traveling from the U.S. want to visit. Delta operates 35 nonstop weekly flights between Brazil and the U.S., including from Atlanta, Detroit and New York-JFK to Sao Paulo, as well as from Atlanta to Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia.
