Fans of the National Football League have more ways to get to Houston on Feb. 5 as the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons vie to take home the Vince Lombardi trophy as winners of the NFL championship game.
A plethora of additional flights to and from Houston-Bush Intercontinental (IAH) will fly on Feb. 3 and 6.
From ATL, to accommodate demand from Falcons fans in Atlanta as well as to capture increased demand in connecting traffic from many cities via Delta’s hub, the largest hub operation in the world:
- 14 flights from Atlanta to IAH on Friday, Feb 3. (up from 8 normally) and 18 flights from IAH to Atlanta on Monday, Feb. 6 (up from 8 normally).
Nonstop flights to IAH from New England:
- Two nonstops from Boston-Logan to IAH on Feb. 3 and two from IAH to Boston-Logan Feb. 6 (no nonstops normally)
- One nonstop from Hartford(BDL) to IAH on Feb. 3 and one from IAH to Hartford(BDL) on Feb. 6 (no nonstops normally)
- One nonstop from Providence (PVD) to IAH on Feb. 3 and one from IAH to Providence (PVD) on Feb. 6 (no nonstops normally)
Delta has carried the AFC Champion New England Patriots and NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons all season long as charter customers and will fly both teams to Houston for the Big Game.
The additional flying will be done on a mix of aircraft, although the Boeing 757-200 will be a common fleet type, including all of the flying to and from New England.
