ATLANTA, June 12, 2006 – Delta Air Lines has received U.S. Department of Transportation approval to offer customers nonstop flights between its largest hub in Atlanta and the picturesque Mexican destination of Leon/Guanajuato effective Dec. 1.

LONDON, June 9, 2006 – Today, nine SkyTeam carriers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with British Airport Authority (BAA) to co-locate their facilities in Terminal 4 at London Heathrow International Airport (LHR) providing easier connections and more convenience to the nearly 3.5 million SkyTeam passengers who travel through LHR each year. According to the agreement, by 2008 carriers with existing LHR service, including Aeroflot, Air France, Alitalia, Czech Airlines and Korean Air, will join KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, which currently serves its passengers in this terminal.

ATLANTA, June 9, 2006 – Delta is recalling between 60 and 70 furloughed pilots this summer as the airline restructures its network to improve revenue and better meet customers’ domestic and international travel needs.

ATLANTA, June 8, 2006 – To help offset rising fuel costs, Delta Air Lines has raised passenger surcharges on tickets purchased on or after June 8, 2006 for travel on most trans-Atlantic flights from the Western Hemisphere. The surcharge will increase $10 each way for passengers originating their travel in the Western Hemisphere (except Canada/Mexico) to Delta’s trans-Atlantic markets. The surcharge for travel originating in Italy will increase €10.

ATLANTA, June 7, 2006 - Delta Air Lines CEO Gerald Grinstein met with senators and representatives on Capitol Hill today to fight for pension reform legislation that would help preserve already accrued benefits for Delta’s more than 91,000 ground and flight attendant employees and retirees. He thanked key leaders in the legislative effort for their support and encouraged them to pass pension reform with the Senate airline provision as quickly as possible.

Delta Air Lines Reports May Traffic (Article)
ATLANTA, June 5, 2006 – Delta Air Lines today reported traffic results for May 2006. System traffic for May 2006 decreased 9.7 percent from May 2005 with a capacity decrease of 10.0 percent. Delta’s system load factor was 76.7 percent in May 2006, up 0.4 points from the same period last year.

PARIS, June 2, 2006 – SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, announced it will be the official alliance of the 2007 Paris Air Show, after signing International Paris Air Show Le Bourget as the first SkyTeam Global Meetings customer. SkyTeam will provide the event organizers with a streamlined process for arranging travel for the show’s attendees and exhibitors. This agreement comes less than a month after the initial launch of the new SkyTeam Global Meetings product.
