Ford Field is the latest backdrop against which CEO Richard Anderson will talk about why government subsidies that state-owned Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways receive are unfair, violate Open Skies agreements and threaten U.S. aviation jobs.

The Detroit Economic Club is hosting the event. More than 300 people are registered to attend, including more than 50 of Delta’s front-line employees. Anderson is scheduled to begin speaking at 12:45 p.m. ET.

The event comes on the heels of the United States Conference of Mayors, which includes 1,400 mayors from across the country, passing a resolution with bipartisan support that calls on the U.S. government to address airline subsidies with Qatar and United Arab Emirates. In May, 262 House members signed a similar bipartisan letter.
