Delta CEO Richard Anderson and Gil West, Delta's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, along with several Delta leaders and specialists from Supply Chain, Fleet Strategy, TechOps, Marketing and other departments Thursday were given an up-close sneak peak at Bombardier’s CS100 narrowbody jet as it stopped in Atlanta as part of a North America tour.

The still-in-development Canadian-built jet is made largely from composite materials and features Pratt & Whitney’s newest high-bypass, geared turbofan engine which is expected to provide better fuel burn and reduced noise compared to existing engines. The CS100 seats roughly 110 passengers while the larger variant can hold 135.

Bombardier expects to deliver its first CS100 jet to SWISS International Air Lines in the first half of 2016.
