John E. “Ned” Walker is Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, overseeing all of airline’s corporate communications efforts, and is a member of the company’s group of top executives, the Delta Leadership Committee. Read his corporate leader bio.
Betsy Talton is Managing Director – Corporate Communications, overseeing culture and digital communications as well as public relations, all of which involves social media. Betsy started her communications career nearly 20 years on the agency side of PR, first with a boutique agency and later at Ketchum. She joined Delta in 2002 thinking it would be a quick-hit resume builder and she’s still drinking the Kool-aid.
Trebor Banstetter, Director - Corporate Communications, is a regular contributor to Delta News Hub, usually writing about CEO Ed Bastian, and leads a team focused on Delta's corporate reputation. Prior to joining Delta, he worked as a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Palm Beach Post, often writing about the airline industry. When not chronicling the adventures of the world’s best airline, he enjoys time with his kids, running and annoying his neighbors with a poorly tuned guitar.
Ashley Black is Director - Corporate Communications, overseeing communications strategy related to Delta’s unique company culture and its complex operations. In 2016 she managed coverage of such disparate subjects as Delta’s record profit-sharing payout and the reveal of the designer uniform collection. She is a 16-year veteran of Delta, where she met her husband. At home in suburban Atlanta, she is a mother of two and makes a mean pan of cinnamon rolls.
Charles Gay is the Editor of Delta News Hub, responsible for its content, visuals and tone. He joined Delta in 2015 after a 25-year career in journalism, including stints as business editor, political editor and deputy managing editor for the airline’s hometown newspaper, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A graduate of Washington & Lee University, he has a passion for storytelling as well as an affinity for seersucker suits, bow ties and saddle oxfords.
Courtney Williams is a graphic artist and visuals coordinator whose work frequently appears on Delta News Hub. In fact, she designed most of the infographics on the site, as well as the homepage background images. She started with Delta in 2010 as a gate agent at Atlanta, the world’s busiest airport. She hopes to one day become a guru of design, owner of a farm, and walk away with a million-dollar deal on the hit TV series, “Shark Tank.”
Emma Kate Protis writes for Delta News Hub as a Corporate Communications intern. She is a researcher and public relations student at the University of Georgia, where she enrolled after spending time in Nepal working with victims of human trafficking. An Atlanta native, she has always called Delta her home team.
Gabrielle Cowand creates stories for Delta News Hub as a Corporate Communications intern . She is a senior and graduate assistant at the University of Georgia, finishing her bachelor’s degree in journalism and master’s degree in emerging media. Gabrielle held 13 different internships and jobs before joining Delta and is looking forward to focusing on just one full-time position after graduation.

Anthony Black is an oft-quoted spokesman for Delta Air Lines who leads the communications team’s media relations strategy, and supports communications for Delta's sponsorships and customer care team. In 1999 he joined Delta, where he found not only a career, but his eventual wife-to-be. He is a proud father of two who can frequently be found cheering on the teams of his alma mater, North Carolina State, or rocking to the sounds of his favorite band, Pearl Jam.
Morgan Durrant writes for Delta News Hub on topics such as financial news, fleet and the airline’s network, as well as serving as a company spokesman. A 13-year industry veteran, he joined Delta in 2010 after working for SkyWest Airlines and US Airways. He’s also a lifelong aviation enthusiast and has been known to make travel plans expressedly to fly in an aircraft he hasn’t experienced before.
Brian Kruse writes for Delta News Hub on a variety of topics, often focusing on Delta’s people and culture, and serves as a company spokesperson. He joined Delta in 2007 after several years of working at global PR agencies and a stint as a flight attendant. A self-proclaimed “avgeek," he grew up with a love of the airline industry, often begging his parents to drive him to the airport so he could watch the planes take off. Kate Modolo manages communications on all things customer experience – SkyMiles, Delta Sky Clubs, eCommerce and more, as well as technology innovation. She is also responsible for managing Delta’s crisis communications strategy and serves as a company spokeswoman. She joined Delta in 2013 after nine years in communications roles at one of Delta’s regional partners. A proud Canadian, she trades the Great White North for the Deep South because she can’t imagine a better company to be a part of than Delta.
Ashton Morrow Kang serves as a company spokeswoman and is Delta News Hub’s primary writer on Airport Customer Service, Cargo operations, Reservation Sales and the airline’s 20,000 flight attendants. She came to Delta after driving strategic research and media relations at a global communications marketing firm. Previously she spent two years teaching in Shanghai where she developed an affinity for fresh passport stamps, pearls and xiao long bao (soup dumplings).
Catherine Sirna Simmons writes for Delta News Hub about on-board amenities, branded fares and the customer experience, and serves as a company spokeswoman. She joined Delta in 2014 having worked at an Atlanta agency with entertainment, hospitality and lifestyle clients. A graduate of Auburn University, she enjoys traveling the world with her blended “Brady Bunch” family.
Kathryn Steele serves as a company spokeswoman and writes for Delta News Hub about the customer experience in airports, along with Delta’s partnerships, marketing efforts and community engagement activities. She joined Delta in 2017 after nearly 10 years at global PR agencies, where she worked with clients spanning the health care, logistics, energy and technology industries. When not at work, she can be found testing out a new restaurant from Atlanta’s expansive food scene.
Michael Thomas is a regular writer for the News Hub, focusing on operations subjects, including its TechOps maintenance operation, the pilot group, corporate security and Delta Connection. He’s been an aviation enthusiast – an “avgeek” - since he can remember and began his airline career working as a baggage handler, aircraft deicer, refueler and customer service agent. Like all good New Yorkers, she believes she knows all the best shortcuts to LaGuardia and JFK from Manhattan.
Liz Savadelis is a writer for Delta News Hub about Delta’s growing hubs in Los Angeles, where she is based, and Seattle, as well as a company spokesperson. Liz began her career at Delta after graduating from the University of Georgia in 2011. A native of suburban Atlanta, she was shocked to learn late in childhood that Delta was not the world’s only airline. When she’s not working, you can find her perfecting her jump shot, cheering on the UGA Bulldogs and exploring new places near and far.
Sarah Lora is General Manager - Communications for Latin America and the Caribbean, and she manages the News Hub’s Spanish- and Portuguese-language pages as well as contributing English-language news from the region. After starting her 27-year career in radio, she anchored TV news in San Juan, Puerto Rico; San Antonio; and Dallas, where she later led Hispanic public relations for two mayors. Off the clock, she has a zest for sharing recipes from her kitchen.
Hiroko Okada is Regional Manager - Asia Pacific, responsible for telling Delta’s story in the region. She manages the News Hub’s Japanese-, Chinese- and Korean-language pages. She joined Delta in 2007 after 20 years of experience in corporate communications and public relations at several consultancies. Based in Tokyo, she often travels the Asia Pacific region to help burnish Delta’s brand reputation in each local market.
Ryoko Matsumoto helps manage Delta’s communication activities in the Asia Pacific region. Based in Tokyo, she joined Delta in 2008 with a wealth of experience in corporate and marketing communications gained from a government agency and PR consultancy firms Burson-Marsteller and Hill and Knowlton. She contributes news from Japan, China, Korea, and other Asian markets, including photography as well as written communications in English and other languages.

Olivia Cullis is Regional Director of Corporate Communications for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. Based in London, she joined Delta in 1997 and is responsible for media relations for the “EMEA” region as well as coordinating communication across Delta’s European joint venture partner airlines. She places a strong value on building relationships and taking a creative approach. She loves a challenge from swimming 5ks to discovering the undiscovered on her travels.
Debbie Egerton is Senior Manager - Global Communications, based in London, managing alliance communications with Delta’s airline partners around the world, plus Global Sales and Delta Cargo communications. She joined Delta in 2007 having previously worked for public relations agencies on travel and leisure accounts. In fact, her first role was working on the communications for the KLM/Northwest Airlines joint venture – now KLM and Delta. Outside work she can be found tending to her garden, her flock of chickens and her Wheaten Terrier named Murphy.
Aimee Greaves is a London-based communications manager for the Europe, Middle East, Africa and India region. She manages in-country communications as well as the News Hub’s regional language pages. She joined Delta in 2014 after working in both journalism and public relations across various industries and countries. When not at her desk, she can be found in the gym, on the netball court or travelling the world – often picking up new shoes along the way.
Chip Yeager oversees video production and event management for Delta’s external and internal communications channels. He joined Delta in 2007 after more than a decade in broadcast news, distance learning and corporate communications. Hayden Hall is a coordinator in Delta’s video services department. A third-generation Delta employee, she followed in her family’s footsteps by joining the Corporate Communications department in 2015. After a thrilling career as a college softball player, she hung up her cleats but enjoys staying active in CrossFit.
Nicco DeRosa focuses on creative storytelling as a video producer/director/writer for much of Delta’s visual content. He began his career working at a talent agency booking actors and models on local projects, and joined Delta in 2014. His ambition and stylistic choices keep him fresh, but not as fresh as his kicks.
Almeda Andrew helps manage Deltanet, the airline’s internal website, by providing strategic counsel and training support to employee publishers. She has worked for Delta since 1989, at first in Delta’s Operations and Marketing groups before becoming a member of the first Corporate Communications intranet team. A Florida native, she spends most of her vacations near water and is always on the hunt for the best new beach.
Kim Bridges is a manager responsible for developing technical solutions and support for Deltanet, the airline’s employee website. She has worked for Delta since 1991, having started in the Finance department. A passionate baseball mom, she approaches life as though every day is a 3-1 count.
Faith Fagan is an administrator of Deltanet, the airline’s internal website, supporting all company divisions and authors in publishing and maintaining content. She has worked for Delta since 1995, starting as a ramp agent loading and unloading bags, and parking airplanes in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Memphis and Anchorage. A Wisconsin native, she can be seen sporting Green Bay Packers gear year-round, including an authentic cheesehead.
Cheryl Rakestraw is a digital communications analyst primarily supporting Deltanet, the company’s employee website. Her duties include internal and external Delta news metrics support, news publishing and editing. She joined Delta in 1988 as a member of the Finance organization before transitioning to Human Resources, where she created the company’s first employee travel benefits website. she can be found on a cruise ship deck most summers.
