ATLANTA, Nov. 3, 2006 – Vacationers looking for a sunny spot to avoid winter’s fury now have more affordable choices thanks to a nationwide fare sale offered by Delta Air Lines. Winter travelers can take advantage of fares discounted at 10 to 20 percent** for travel between the United States and more than 45 Delta destinations in the Caribbean, Latin America, Mexico, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Customers should act fast, though, as tickets must be purchased at or from a travel agent by Nov. 10, 2006; all travel must be completed by Jan. 31, 2007. Sample fares from some of Delta’s primary international gateways include:

Many of the flights on sale feature destinations added in the last year as part of the largest international expansion in Delta history, including Managua, Nicaragua; Ponce and Aguadilla, Puerto Rico; and Roatan, Honduras, to name a few. Across Latin America alone, Delta has added or announced more than 40 new routes in the last year, including upcoming inaugural flights between Atlanta and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic (Dec. 15)*; Leon, Mexico (Dec. 1); Port of Spain, Trinidad (Dec. 9)*; Pointe a Pitre, Guadeloupe (Dec. 13)*; Fort de France, Martinique (Dec. 16)*; and between Orlando and Mexico City (Dec. 1)*; Salt Lake City and Mexico City (Dec. 1)*; and New York-JFK and Punta Cana (Dec. 9)*.

Restrictions: Fares shown are available for purchase only on or from your travel agent. Tickets cost $10 more if purchased from Delta over the telephone or $15 more if purchased at an airport or city ticket office, and these amounts are nonrefundable. Travel agents may impose an additional service charge for ticketing. Tickets are non-transferable. Seats are limited and fares may not be available on all flights or in all markets. Tickets must be purchased at least 3 days prior to departure or within 24 hours after reservations are made, whichever is earlier, but no later than November 10, 2006. Blackout Dates: Blackout dates apply, and during peak travel periods such as holiday periods and school break, seats at these fares are extremely limited. Fare Validity: Fares are valid in the Economy (Coach) cabin on Delta/Delta Connection carrier and certain codeshare partner flights only. Minimum Stay: None. Maximum Stay: None, except travel must be completed by January 31, 2007. Cancellations/Refunds/Changes: Fares are nonrefundable. Delta may permit you to apply a portion of the fare value to future travel upon payment of applicable fees and fare difference, otherwise the ticket will have no value. Fees may apply for itinerary changes. Delta may allow you to cancel certain electronic tickets until midnight of the day after purchase (or midnight of the departure date of the first flight, whichever comes first) without penalty if purchased at the time of reservation directly from Delta. A flight segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing. Fares do not include Passenger Facility Charge(s) of up to $18.00, depending on itinerary or September 11th Security Fee of up to $10 per round-trip. For travel to/from Hawaii, U.S. International Air Transportation tax of up to $14.60 round-trip applies. International fares, including fares for travel to/from PR/U.S. Virgin Islands, do not include U.S. International Air Transportation tax of up to $29.00 and U.S. and foreign user, inspection, security or other similarly based charges, fees or taxes of up to $250, depending on itinerary.
