New Yorkers love sports, and no matter what they’re watching or playing, chances are that Delta proudly supports it, too.
Delta now serves as the official airline of Chelsea Piers, one of New York’s most renowned sports and entertainment complexes. This sponsorship is the newest proof point in the carrier’s ongoing commitment to be New York’s favorite airline by supporting the teams, organizations, and institutions that excite the residents of the city and state.
“Delta doesn’t just operate as a business in New York—we’re also passionate New Yorkers ourselves,” said Gail Grimmett, Delta's Senior Vice President – New York. “With more than 10,000 New York-based employees serving more than 24 million customers throughout the state every year, we are deeply invested in the fabric of this community and truly enjoy connecting with our friends and neighbors around shared interests and activities, from volunteerism to sports and entertainment. We are so pleased to welcome Chelsea Piers, one of the city’s most popular properties, as our partner.”
Delta will serve as Chelsea Piers’ official airline at its facilities in Manhattan and Stamford, Conn. Through the sponsorship, Delta will be the exclusive presenting sponsor for the adult soccer, basketball and hockey leagues, including logo placement on team jerseys. Delta signage will also be displayed in various locations throughout the two facilities.
Delta will have a presence on Chelsea Piers’ website and social media channels; in email newsletters and advertising; and through customized branding and messaging opportunities. The new partnership also enables Delta to host SkyMiles Member Days at each complex, including customer benefits and discounts on admission and equipment rental.
"Chelsea Piers is proud to partner with Delta,” said Dana B. Thayer, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sponsorships at Chelsea Piers. “We are excited to present a wide range of Delta-sponsored activations that will benefit our active-lifestyle customers and members, as well as Delta’s customers and SkyMiles members."
Chelsea Piers joins a growing list of New York sports and entertainment entities that Delta currently sponsors, including the New York Yankees, Mets, Knicks, Rangers and Liberty, as well as Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall’s Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Delta also supports a variety of cultural and community institutions that resonate with New Yorkers, including Food Bank for New York City, The Whitney Museum, amfAR, and Habitat for Humanity NYC.
