ATLANTA, Dec. 10, 2012 – Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) is adding additional flights to support travel interest coinciding with the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) beginning in late December. The additional flights have been added for the National Championship Game in Miami as well as the Rose Bowl, Fiesta Bowl and Sugar Bowl.

Delta traditionally adds capacity to support the strong demand for non-stop service associated with postseason games.

During the regular season, the airline carried 31 BCS teams full-time and 18 of those teams are playing in bowl games this season. Delta, one of the largest sports charter organizations on the globe, generated more than $15 million in revenue for the 2012 regular season.

Delta has carries the eventual national championship in four of the past five seasons, and is assured of repeating that honor again as it’s scheduled to carry both teams to Miami.
