NEW YORK, March 30, 2011 – Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL), the official airline of the New York Yankees and New York Mets, together with New York Water Taxi, is offering free water taxi service to every home game at Yankee Stadium and Citi Field for the second consecutive season. Delta’s Baseball Water Taxi service launches from South Street Seaport with an extra pickup at East 35th Street on the way to the games. The area’s only public transportation service will begin on Yankees opening day, March 31 against the Detroit Tigers, and will continue for the rest of the regular season.

The two specially wrapped Delta Baseball Water Taxis – one co-branded with the New York Yankees, the other co-branded with the New York Mets -- will depart from South Street Seaport 90 minutes before opening pitch. The taxi will then pick up additional passengers at The East 35th Street Ferry Landing and then will drop them off at the docks at Yankee Stadium or World’s Fair Marina, a short walk from Citi Field.  Fans are guaranteed to arrive at the dock at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the game.

Once on board, passengers can purchase Delta signature “Fly Ball” cocktails, cold beer, soft drinks and snacks from the Water Taxi café. Drinks and snacks can be enjoyed on the open-air top deck or while watching pre-game coverage on the large screen TVs inside the climate controlled interior deck.

“As the official airline of New York baseball, we know how much New Yorkers love their two hometown teams,” said Gail Grimmett, Delta’s senior vice president of New York. “It is our pleasure to be able to once again offer Delta’s award-winning service to two special destinations – Citi Field and Yankee Stadium.”

The Delta Baseball Water Taxis do not take phone reservations. Seating is limited to 147 passengers per Water Taxi and tickets can be picked up at South Street Seaport, as early as two hours prior to departure.  A limited number of tickets will also be available online at www.nywatertaxi.com (there is a $1 per ticket service charge for print-at-home tickets). A limit of four tickets per person, per game applies. Please note: service is only provided to the game; there is no post-game return service back to Manhattan.
