ATLANTA, March 5, 2009 – Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) today reported traffic results for February 2009.
Delta and Northwest Combined
On a combined basis, system traffic in February 2009 decreased 11.0 percent compared to February 2008 on a 7.8 percent decrease in capacity, and load factor declined 2.7 points to 74.3 percent.
Domestic traffic decreased 11.5 percent year over year on an 11.0 percent decrease in capacity. Domestic load factor decreased 0.4 points to 78.0 percent. International traffic decreased 10.1 percent year over year on a 1.9 percent decrease in capacity, and load factor declined 6.2 points to 68.3 percent.
Delta
Delta’s system traffic in February 2009 decreased 9.2 percent compared to February 2008 on a capacity decrease of 6.2 percent. Delta’s system load factor decreased 2.4 points to 72.5 percent.
Northwest
Northwest’s system traffic in February 2009 decreased 13.6 percent compared to February 2008 on a capacity decrease of 10.2 percent. Northwest’s system load factor decreased 3.0 points to 77.2 percent.
