ATLANTA, Feb. 5, 2007 – Delta Air Lines today reported record load factor results for January 2007. Delta’s system load factor for January was a record 73.7 percent, up 0.3 points from the prior year. Delta also achieved its highest January load factors for its mainline system (74.7 percent with a previous high of 73.8 percent in 2006) and mainline domestic (74.5 percent with a previous high of 73.8 percent in 2006).
For January 2007, system traffic increased 3.3 percent from January 2006 with a capacity increase of 2.9 percent. International traffic in January 2007 increased 28.6 percent year over year on a 26.8 percent increase in capacity. International load factor was 74.7 percent, up 1.1 points compared to January 2006. Domestic traffic in January 2007 decreased 5.2 percent year over year, and capacity decreased 5.1 percent.
During January 2007, Delta operated its schedule at a 98.6 percent completion rate relative to 98.5 percent in January 2006. Delta boarded 8.1 million passengers during January 2007, a decrease of 1.7 percent from January 2006. Detailed traffic and capacity are attached.
