SkyWish is the charitable arm of Delta's SkyMiles frequent flyer program and allows Delta and its SkyMiles members to donate miles to charitable organizations worldwide.

“Giving Tuesday serves as a great reminder for all of us to come together and help those in need during the holiday season,” said Tad Hutcheson, Vice President – Community Affairs. “At Delta, we are committed to supporting the communities where our employees live, work and serve throughout the year. Today, we encourage our customers to join in and give back through our SkyWish program, which allows customers to donate miles to organizations that matter most to them.”

Now in its fourth year, #GivingTuesday is a global day dedicated to giving back to others. Observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season.

As a global carrier, Delta is committed to increasing the sustainability of communities around the globe, Hutcheson said. Delta’s focus is to make a difference in the communities where the airline’s employees live, work and serve through its arts and culture, education, environment, health/wellness and military/veteran efforts. As part of this commitment, Delta, The Delta Air Lines Foundation and Delta employees contribute time, energy and millions of dollars to a host of philanthropic causes.

Delta and its employees donate hundreds of hours each year to community projects including building homes with Habitat for Humanity International nationwide, constructing a playground with KaBOOM!, donating blood to the American Red Cross and more.
