The addition of CLEAR at Los Angeles International Airport comes weeks after Delta successfully orchestrated an unprecedented terminal move to create the best customer experience at the airport, and in time for the busy summer travel season. With this week’s launch at LAX Terminals 2 and 3, 22 of Delta’s busiest airports now feature CLEAR’s service.
“Delta’s $1.9 billion transformation plan for LAX over the next several years is all about delivering a world-class experience for Delta customers from the time you arrive at the airport all the way through the travel ribbon,” said Ranjan Goswami, Delta’s Vice President – Sales, West. “Our partnership with CLEAR is one more way to make that happen and is part of our broader effort to offer Delta customers a faster way through security.”
CLEAR uses fingerprint and iris I.D. technology to expedite the document check portion of the TSA security process. CLEAR members verify their identity in the dedicated CLEAR lane and then enter either TSA PreCheck or general screening depending on their status, reducing the overall amount of time spent at security.
U.S.-based Delta SkyMiles Members enjoy exclusive rates to enroll in the service that expedites long security lines, thanks to the airline’s partnership with CLEAR.
Delta Diamond Medallion Members are offered complimentary CLEAR membership (regularly $179), while Platinum, Gold and Silver Medallion Members and SkyMiles Credit Card Members can secure an annual Member-only rate of $79. General SkyMiles Members are offered an annual membership for $99. CLEAR also offers a family plan option, where SkyMiles Members can sign up one additional family member for $50 and kids under 18 are free with an adult CLEAR member.
