Delta people continue to raise the bar in both operational performance and customer experience. To maintain this momentum, Delta is ensuring it has the right leadership in place, and has recently announced changes to its operations organization.

As a result, the following changes will take effect Sept. 1:

David Garrison is assuming the role of Senior Vice President – Delta Connection and Delta Global Services, and CEO of Endeavor Air. He will oversee all aspects of the more than 2,300 daily departures for Delta's regional partner airlines. Additionally, he will have responsibility for Delta's wholly owned subsidiary, DGS, a leading supplier of aviation services. As CEO of Endeavor Air, David will lead Delta's wholly owned regional carrier which operates more than 700 daily departures under the Delta Connection brand. David has more than 27 years of experience at Delta leading various components of TechOps' business including engineering and technical services, reliability and maintenance programs, inspection, quality assurance and maintenance planning.

Sandy Gordon is being promoted to Senior Vice President – Airport Operations-Domestic Stations, reporting to Gareth Joyce, Senior Vice President – Airport Customer Service & President - Cargo. Sandy is responsible for the day-to-day operations in 222 airports in the U.S. as well as Delta's hubs in Seattle and Salt Lake City. Her responsibilities include leading more than 10,000 Delta employees and more than 100 ground handling providers who deliver customer service to Delta customers every day. Her 28 years of experience in customer service – both in Airport Customer Service and In-Flight Service – combined with her strong leadership and strategic focus will serve Delta well as it continues to deliver high quality customer experiences.

Erik Snell is being promoted to Senior Vice President – Operations & Customer Center, reporting to Dave Holtz, Senior Vice President – Operations & Customer Center. In this role, Erik will facilitate greater oversight of Flight Control, Meteorology, Navigation Data, Load Control, Crew Tracking and Accommodations with a fresh, innovative approach. Erik's experience chairing Delta's IROP Task Force resulted in improved process and communication flow making him the perfect fit for this role.

Gary Hammes, CEO of Delta Private Jets, is being appointed to Vice President – Engineering and Quality Assurance, reporting to Don Mitacek, Senior Vice President – Technical Operations. Gary, a 30-year airline veteran, previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Virgin Australia, managing the airline's global operation. He has also held leadership roles at World Airways, Northwest Airlines and United Airlines. The new CEO of DPJ will be named in the coming weeks.
