Delta has been named to the 2016 Honor Roll by Companies That Care, the first time the airline has received this recognition. The companies and organizations on the Honor Roll have the common denominator of behaving in socially responsible ways for their employees and communities.

Delta qualified for the award by excelling in the 10 Characteristics set forth by the nonprofit, which include taking into account the human toll when making business decisions, cultivating the full potential of employees, supporting the pursuit of work/life balance, sustaining an inclusive work environment founded on dignity and respect for all employees and volunteering in the community.

“We’re proud of this honor, which is a validation of Delta’s great culture,” said Joanne Smith, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. “Our achievements are a natural outgrowth of being a values-based company that always puts Delta people first. In addition, our people are proud to support the communities where they live and work, with volunteering working hand-in-hand with Delta’s commitment to put one percent of our net income to charity.”
