Delta is transitioning its below wing Airport Customer Service operations in Austin (AUS) and Raleigh-Durham (RDU) from vendor support to Delta employees. This change is expected to be complete by February 2019 and will create more than 100 full-time positions combined, between both cities.

"This transition allows us to strengthen operational efficiencies and aligns us for long-term success," said Sandy Gordon, Senior Vice President — Airport Operations, Domestic Stations. "And we're cultivating our existing talent by providing more career opportunities, investing in our people and their professional development."

Delta continues to invest in Austin and Raleigh-Durham, two of the airline's largest non-Hub stations. In Raleigh-Durham, Delta is already the largest airline, with nearly 80 daily departures to more than 20 worldwide destinations. Delta began new service in 2017 to Nashville, Austin, and Seattle, and recently opened a newly renovated and expanded Delta Sky Club. In Austin, Delta plans to open a new Delta Sky Club in 2019 and operates more than 20 daily departures.
