Delta has been nominated for five World Travel Awards this year. The airline which was honored with five WTA awards in 2015 in the categories of North America’s Leading Airline and United States’ Leading Airline to the Caribbean, Central America, South America and Mexico, stands to be recognized again for its excellence in services in the same categories in 2016.

“We continue to look for ways to advance our goal to be the best U.S. airline in Latin America and the Caribbean, and customers have been showing high levels of satisfaction on surveys,” said Roberto Girotti, Executive Consultant for Delta in Latin America and the Caribbean. “Delta’s investments in customer service and our industry-leading operational reliability are important to those in the region who choose and trust in us every day.”

The World Travel Awards were established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global tourism industry. The 23rd WTA Latin America Gala Ceremony will be held in Lima, Peru, July 1 and the Caribbean and North America Gala Ceremony will take place in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Sept. 17.

“We recognize that our approach must be tailored to the regions we serve to continue winning on the global stage,” Girotti said. “Latin America is, in many regards, at the forefront of these regionalization efforts thanks to Delta’s unparalleled team in the region.”

Voting for the World Travel Awards 2016 is now open. Central and South America categories’ voting period will close on May 6.
