Junior Achievment Social Impact Award
Delta honored student-run recycling company Ilumin-Arte for its proven commitment to the environment with the first Delta Social Impact Award at a ceremony in Guatemala last week. The organization recycles and repurposes items and donates the proceeds to Guatemalan families in need.

The Social Impact Award is granted during the Delta-sponsored Junior Achievement (JA) Company of the Year Competition to the highest scoring company. Companies are judged based on categories including advancing global diversity, improving global wellness, supporting education and sustaining the environment. Competitions are held regionally by JA Americas.

"We would like to extend our congratulations to Ilumin-Arte, the first Junior Achievement Americas Company to receive the Delta Social Impact Award for its commitment to making a difference in its local community and the environment," said Jose "Pepe" Zapata, General Manager – Central America and the Caribbean. “Delta created the Social Impact Award to recognize great social responsibility in JA companies, and Ilumin-Arte has truly lived up to that ideal.”

The airline supports the JA Company of the Year Competition as part of Delta’s Global Force for Good initiative. This partnership aligns with the airline’s core value of servant leadership and regional goal of being the best U.S. airline in Latin America and the Caribbean.
