, Delta’s wholly-owned private jet subsidiary, appointed Gary Hammes as President, the company said in a Delta Private Jetsnews release issued Tuesday. Hammes will be responsible for DPJ’s financial and operational performance as well as growing the brand and finding opportunities to offer customers seamless travel options on Delta.
Hammes, a 30-year airline veteran, comes to DPJ from Virgin Australia, where he served as Chief Operating Officer, managing a 130-aircraft fleet and a global airline operation. He also worked at World Airways and ASTAR Air Cargo Inc.
“I am pleased to join Delta Private Jets and work with a strong team of leaders to create an even more dynamic, innovative and service-oriented culture to transform our position in the industry,” he said.
In recent years, DPJ has grown its private jet charter fleet to more than 70 aircraft in the light, mid-size, super-midsize and large aircraft categories, all with in-flight Wi-Fi and other customer amenities. The distinctive Delta Private Jets Card allows customers the opportunity to purchase travel on a private jet as well as on commercial Delta flights around the globe.
