Teams across Delta are prepped and ready for the 8.7 million holiday fliers expected to take to the skies between Dec. 20 and Jan. 5.

The airline anticipates its busiest travel days of the holiday period will be Dec. 20 and Dec. 27 with more than 590,000 people expected to travel the Friday before and after Christmas.

Our team of meteorologists in the Operations and Customer Center forecast fair weather across most of the U.S.  No operational impact is expected, while rain along parts of the Southwest and light snow across the Rockies remain in the forecast.

Across the globe, Airport Customer Service teams are prepped and ready to assist customers traveling to and from holiday memories, while crews in the air assist customers with regular updates and world-class customer service.

Below-wing teams on the ground are working diligently to keep flights moving, loading and unloading lots of checked holiday cheer. TechOps maintenance keep Delta sleighs flying safely, while teams in the OCC are on 24/7 monitoring weather, working with teams on the ground and coordinating air traffic control to anticipate anything that may affect flights.

Reservations specialists are on hand to help customers with any last minute updates to their itineraries, answering calls and responding to messages as quickly and efficiently as possible to keep not-so-jolly wait times down.

Going into the final weeks of the year, it's been a strong year for Delta's global operation. The airline has officially gone 2741 days without a cancellation – an impressive feat compared to the 245 days recorded this time last year. Our regional partners have also gone above and beyond for customers with record-breaking performance in 2019, achieving 180days without a cancellation across the Delta Connection operation – 18 more than this time last year.

Delta TechOps teams have also been working hard all year, reducing cancellations as a result of maintenance, logging 325 cancel-free maintenance days so far in 2019.
