NEW YORK, Nov. 16, 2010 – Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) this week is rolling out another food-related service enhancement at New York’s JFK and LaGuardia airports to allow customers to order meals directly from Apple iPad kiosks stationed near their departure gates, with delivery guaranteed within 10 minutes.

Beginning Friday, customers will find new food ordering stations at gates 21 and 22 in JFK Terminal 2 and at gate 15 in JFK Terminal 3. Stations are planned for gates 1 and 2 of LaGuardia’s Terminal D later this year.
The JFK and LaGuardia upgrades reflect the airline’s continued investment in New York and reinforce its commitment to enhancing customer service on the ground and in the air.

Already this year, Delta has announced two programs with OTG at LaGuardia and JFK to substantially remake the in-airport dining experience. At LaGuardia, OTG is introducing 13 new food and beverage concepts throughout Terminal D while at JFK it has introduced new full-service cafés and bars at four Delta Sky Clubs.

By combining cuisine with innovative seating and ordering technology, we are offering a truly unique airport travel experience.” At JFK, the new Terminal 2 dining stations will feature food from Croque Madame, a new French-inspired dining concept developed by New York chef Andrew Carmellini, while Terminal 3 will feature cuisine from Bar Brace, an Italian dining concept from New York restaurateur Jason Denton. At LaGuardia, the new Terminal D dining stations will be located adjacent to Crust, a Neopolitan-style pizzeria, developed by New York baker Jim Lahey of Co. and Sullivan St. Bakery
Prior to completing their order, customers using the new dining stations will be informed of their meal delivery time to ensure their order is received before their flight departure time. The orders will be delivered by OTG servers in approximately 10 minutes or less. The newly designed gate dining areas will accommodate single and group travelers with most seats conveniently outfitted with power outlets for charging electronics.
The introduction of personalized food delivery at JFK and LaGuardia is the latest in a series of substantial investments Delta is making in the New York market, including a recently announced $1.2 billion plan to enhance and expand JFK Terminal 4 in partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and JFK International Air Terminal LLC. Construction on the new Terminal 4 facility is slated to begin this year with completion scheduled for May 2013.
