The thoughts and prayers of the entire Delta family are with the people of Mexico in the wake of a magnitude 7.1 earthquake that struck the state of Puebla on Tuesday and was strongly felt in Mexico City.

Following an evaluation of infrastructure and airport facilities, sc​heduled flights to/from Mexico City International Airport (Benito Juárez International Airport) will resume on Wednesday.

A travel waiver has been issued for passengers traveling through MEX through September 20, which allows customers to change plans without incurring a fee.​

​Delta, along with its partner Aeromexico, is evaluating operations at Mexico City International Airport (Benito Juárez International Airport), which remains closed after a magnitude 7.1 earthquake Tuesday that struck the state of Puebla and was strongly felt in Mexico City. The airport terminal was evacuated.

Flights en route to Mexico City were diverted to area airports out of an abundance of caution while flights scheduled to depart MEX are delayed pending an evaluation of infrastructure and airport facilities.
