Delta will operate its Los Angeles-Shanghai route using its new Airbus A350 aircraft starting July 2, and the airline flew one of the new aircraft to LA early for a preview event this week.
Nearly 500 Delta customers, partners and members of the media came out to the Flight Path Museum at LAX to get a first look at the aircraft. Attendees at the open house-style event were able to tour the aircraft, try out the Delta One Suite and Delta Premium Select, speak to Delta subject matter experts and sample Delta One onboard meals curated by Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo.
Delta's A350s feature the brand new Delta One Suite – the world's first Business Class suite – and Delta Premium Select, the airline's new premium economy product. The Delta One Suite recently won a highly coveted Crystal Cabin Award, which are known as the world's most renowned prize for innovation in aircraft interiors — with the winners setting the trends for the future of flying.
The A350, Delta One Suite and Delta Premium Select are part of Delta's multi-billion dollar investment in the overall customer experience. In the past several years, the airline has made significant enhancements to the Main Cabin experience including free Main Cabin meals on select coast-to-coast routes, free mobile messaging, free in-flight entertainment, upgraded Main Cabin snacks, the addition of sparkling wine, access to Wi-Fi on nearly all flights, enhanced blankets and refreshed Flight Fuel food-for-purchase options. Recent upgrades to the Delta One in-flight experience include not only the launch of the cabin's newest menus, curated by Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo, but also, TUMI amenity kits with Kiehl's products, an Alessi-designed collection of serviceware, Westin Heavenly® In-Flight Bedding, and Delta's new noise-canceling LSTN headphones.
