The Rainbow PUSH Coalition recently hosted its Powerful Women in Leadership event in Atlanta celebrating women leaders at the corporate, academic and government levels.

At the event, Keyra Lynn Johnson, Managing Director — Global Diversity and Inclusion, was honored with the Corporate Advocate for Inclusion Award.

“I have the privilege to lead work that I’m deeply passionate about,” said Johnson. “I was humbled to accept the award not on behalf of the work I’ve done, but on behalf of the inclusion efforts, mindset and journey that Delta’s 80,000 employees are on together.”

DeShawn Jenkins, Executive Director of the French Alliance of Atlanta, presented the award.
She highlighted Johnson’s leadership throughout her career at Delta, including her first role as an Airport Customer Service Agent.

“In her more than 20 years at Delta, Keyra has always been an advocate for embracing diverse people, thinking and styles,” Jenkins said. “Keyra is a leader in driving Delta’s comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategy with supporting programs, initiatives and action plans that have a significant impact on Delta people, its customers and the communities it serves.”

Delta's Diversity & Inclusion Council, comprised of senior leaders representing the operation, corporate and commercial organizations, is focused on the airline's diversity and inclusion priorities and reinforcing the importance of the airline's commitment to bringing people together.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian has signed on to the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion, a CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace. As a collaborative group of CEOs at many of the world’s leading companies, the leaders have agreed to take action to cultivate a workplace where different points of view are welcomed and employees feel encouraged to discuss diversity and inclusion topics.

The Rainbow PUSH Coalition was formed in December 1996 by Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. through the merging of two organizations he founded earlier, People United to Serve Humanity and the Rainbow Coalition.
