Gail Grimmett is Delta’s senior vice president – New York charged with developing and achieving Delta’s key strategic objectives for the state of New York including financial performance, marketing, commercial sales, sponsorships, community relations and the customer experience at the airports. She also directs Delta’s state and local government affairs within New York.
Gail led Delta’s effort to reach an agreement with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on a $1.4 billion terminal redevelopment program at John F. Kennedy International Airport, the first phase of which opened in May 2013. She also presided over the largest hub expansion in 40 years at nearby LaGuardia Airport – doubling Delta’s overall capacity out of that airport. Through her team’s efforts, Delta has developed as a key community partner and increased its brand recognition as a corporate sponsor throughout the state.
Gail previously served as senior vice president – Revenue Management for Delta, responsible for optimizing Delta’s passenger revenue worldwide. She also served as managing director – Investor Relations and chief economist – Corporate Forecasting and Planning during her 17-year tenure at Delta.
Before joining Delta, Gail spent four years as a senior regulatory economist with the Department of Labor under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
In June 2013, Gail was named one of Crain’s New York Business “50 Most Powerful Women in New York.” She received the Bishop Wright Award and was named Woman of the Year in Aviation in 2010 and was named one of the “Top 25 Women to Watch” by Atlanta Business Chronicle in 2008.
Gail holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and a master’s in business administration from George Washington University with a concentration in Business Economics and Public Policy.
