Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) is joining TEDGlobal 2014 providing the brightest minds in Brazil an opportunity to share ideas to promote innovative actions that can contribute to a better world in the areas of mobility, education and solutions for megacities. The Delta mobile recording studio has started to travel across Sao Paulo to gather video submissions from students and entrepreneurs for the Innovation Gate competition, which ends on October 10, 2014. 

The objective of the contest is to share and foster ideas that deserve to be propagated and which will create new possibilities for social, cultural, environmental and economic interactions.

“To gather the ideas, Delta created a mobile studio that will circulate among strategic locations in São Paulo, where students and entrepreneurs are invited to create a video explaining how their contribution could make a difference,” said Luciano Macagno, Delta´s director for Brazil. “Delta’s recording studio also will visit top universities and business centers known for being hotbeds for startup companies.”

The competition is open to anyone in Brazil by submitting a video through the competition´s website www.innovationgate.com.br. The best videos will be selected by a panel of judges from TED, Delta and special guest Rodrigo Baggio, social entrepreneur and president and founder of Committee for Democracy in Information Technology. The best videos will be announced and launched on October 30th at www.ted.com and will be posted at Delta Air Lines Brazil Facebook fan page. 

“Delta is very excited to support the TEDGlobal conference since it is the first time is being hosted in Rio de Janeiro,” said Macagno. “We have very talented minds in Brazil and look forward to the results of the contest and to see how many bright ideas will be showcased.  Delta is an airline which supports innovative thinking.”

TEDGlobal 2014 presents a five day program with a focus on the Global South's rise in influence and power, plus music and performance, tech demos, exhibits and parties.

The program uses to spread TED Talks in social media as thought-starters to inspire the community by spurring imagination and bringing new and innovative ideas across technology, entertainment, design, travel and much more.
