Lucky customers on two morning flights Thursday were treated to an in-flight surprise when Joy Bauer of NBC TODAY Show fame and founder of Nourish Snacks hand-delivered a fresh batch of her nutritious CoCo’Nilla Crunch granola snacks alongside flight attendants on board.

Delighted travelers got an opportunity to chat with Bauer about her product, snap photos and post the in-flight event on social media using the hashtags #treatinmyseat and #fueledbynourish.

While on board flight 831 departing from New York's LaGuardia Airport to Detroit Metropolitan Airport and returning to the Big Apple on Flight 955—both heavily trafficked by business travelers and frequent flyers—Bauer shared tips on staying healthy even while on the go and said nutrition and good food doesn't have to be casualties of the road warrior life.

The surprise and delight event was coordinated by Delta's On-Board Service team to make customers aware of the new selection. After Bauer's return in New York, the team offered snacks to customers visiting the Terminal D Delta Sky Club.

Nourish Snacks are available in the First Class snack basket on morning flights between 251 miles and 899 miles throughout the system.

Offering customers healthy, nutritious alternatives from locally-recognized brands is part of Delta's broader on-board food and beverage strategy. The airline recently began serving Bantam Bagels in First Class on morning flights departing New York and Honeysuckle Gelato in the evening on long haul domestic departures out of Atlanta.

Additional local brands will appear on board in the coming months as Delta continues to make seasonal adjustments to its on-board offerings.
