Employees in Atlanta gave traveling moms a thoughtful surprise as they passed through the world’s busiest airport this Mother’s Day.
Members of the ATL Airport Experience and Service Recovery team handed out goodies from a butterfly garden-themed amenity cart, clad with light-up pink roses and framed by 50 hand-folded tissue paper flowers.
The team is a specialty group of gate agents and Red Coats charged with improving customer experience prior to boarding or during irregular operations. Their "surprise and delight” events are part the team’s on-the-spot recognition program, “Just Because.”
Throughout the day, the team made stops at the center points of concourses T through D to greet customers and hand out 500 individually wrapped assortments of chocolate-covered strawberries, marshmallows, truffles and pretzels from Savannah’s Candy Kitchen, known for its world famous pecan pralines.
Mothers, sons and daughters gathered underneath the bloom-filled arch to have their photo taken, as they expressed gratitude for the heartfelt gesture from Delta people. Now, the team looks forward to celebrating fathers on their special day in June.
