Delta Cargo this week announced a complete redesign of its website, making it easier for customers to ship a wide variety of products.

The enhanced site has a new look and feel and is built with responsive design elements for self-service mobile and tablet usage. Customers can book their cargo transport needs from anywhere, at any time – and on any device.

Generating $934 million in revenue in 2014, Delta Cargo’s product shipping list is vast, including same-day DASH shipments (a premium domestic service for small packages), perishables (flowers, fish/seafood, fruits/vegetables and other foodstuff) and high-value items (artwork, antiques and jewelry).

Shipped cargo also includes pharmaceuticals (temperature-controlled for vaccines, plasma, biotechnology products, raw materials, bulk drugs and laboratory reagents), high fashion clothing (designer suits, handbags and accessories) and automobiles (new and used luxury vehicles, race cars and motorcycles).

The newly redesigned website allows individuals without a Delta Cargo account to conveniently book pets and other live animals online throughout the world. The site makes it easy to submit electronic Air Waybills, a global initiative in which Delta is an industry leader. (Air Waybills are an equivalent to a passenger ticket.)

“At Delta, our customers are the most important factor to consider when designing applications and website experiences,” said Sharon Poindexter, Delta's Director of Strategic Innovation & Technology – Delta Cargo. “We incorporated many thoughtful features to increase its ease of use and wanted to make it comfortable for customers to transact with us – our number one tenet.”

The user-friendly website has an innovative, step-by-step booking process, quote estimator, side-by-side pricing comparisons and the ability to view scheduled and in-transit shipping orders to more than 320 destinations in 59 countries spanning six continents.

Delta Cargo also offers GPS On-Demand, providing real-time tracking and monitoring for critical shipments. Designed for ease of use, there’s no advanced booking required, and Delta handles the reverse logistics. From the website, customers can track the temperature, light and humidity readings, as well as exact shipment locations.

"On behalf of our company, I would like to take a moment to say how pleased we are with the newly designed Delta Cargo website. We find that the new design makes the website easier to navigate and also simplifies the booking process with greater precision. We were also impressed with the modern visual appeal. The new features are a great example of the detail and accuracy that make booking with Delta Cargo a very favorable experience," said a customer from Ozark Jet A Pet.

“It’s been fascinating the last decade at Delta because we really have driven a whole new focus around innovation,” said Kristen Shovlin, Delta's Vice President – Commercial Operations. “This site provides a new level of convenience with our global marketplace in mind. It truly embodies the concept of shipping with ease.”
