## What to know about Delta’s expanded Basic fare options, available now

Starting today, Delta is offering Basic fares in premium products (Delta First, Delta Premium Select and Delta One — known as Basic Business) alongside Classic and Extra fares in select markets. This expansion of the Basic experience allows customers to access premium products at a lower price point, giving them more choice and the ability to tailor their travel based on what matters most.

Following the introduction of [new product travel names and experiences](https://news.delta.com/now-booking-delta-new-product-names-and-travel-experiences-flying-fall) last year and the expansion of the [Basic tier to Delta Comfort](https://news.delta.com/introducing-delta-comfort-basic-deltas-latest-travel-experience-unpacked) last fall, Delta is further expanding its Basic experience offering to include Delta First, Delta Premium Select and Delta One.

This expansion is designed to give customers more choice when flying, allowing them to tailor travel according to their preferences and needs.

### New Basic options at a glance

- Delta is now offering Basic fares for Delta First, Delta Premium Select and Delta One products.
- Similar to what’s in market for Delta Main and Delta Comfort, the Basic tier allows customers access to the premium onboard experience as Classic and Extra options, but at a lower price point, and with some trade-offs, such as:
    - Seats assigned after check-in
    - Reduced checked bag allowance
    - Lower mileage earn
    - No complimentary or paid upgrades
    - No same-day confirmed or same-day standby travel changes
    - Changes or cancellations for a fee
- Customers on a Basic ticket will only be able to access Delta Sky Clubs through another means of entry than their purchased fare (e.g., Delta Sky Club membership or an access-granting eligible credit card).
- The entry-level tier for Delta One, called **Basic Business**, offers customers the full onboard Delta One experience, without the non-flight elements of the journey (Delta One check-in and Delta One Lounge). Customers must purchase a Delta One Classic or Extra fare for access to the Delta One Lounge or Delta Sky Club.\*

###### ***\***As customers become accustomed to the new fare parameters, access to the Delta One Lounge and Delta Sky Club will be permitted on a Basic Business ticket for travel dates through Jan. 18, 2027.*

“This expansion gives customers more ways to choose the Delta experience that best fits their trip, and a new way to access our premium tier products,” said Joe Esposito, executive vice president - chief commercial officer. “No matter the fare, every customer can expect the thoughtful service, comfort and care that continues to set Delta apart.”

See below for a comparison of Basic Business to Delta One Classic and Delta One Extra.

For more information on this change, read the Q&A below.

**How does the Basic experience differ from Classic and Extra experiences in premium seat products?**

- There is no difference in the onboard experience for Basic, Classic and Extra fares.
- The “Basic” option is ideally suited for customers who value the premium onboard experience, but place less importance on factors like advance seat assignment, the ability to change or cancel without a fee, complimentary or paid upgrades, or mileage earn.
    - Note: While customers who select the Basic travel experience are not eligible for product upgrades, they may purchase seat assignments within their current product if available.

**Why is Delta calling the entry-level experience to its most premium product “Basic Business” instead of “Delta One Basic”?**

- The name ‘Basic Business’ is meant to designate an industry-standard business class offering, without the ground experience features included in a Delta One ticket that customers have come to expect as part of their journey (Delta One check-in and Delta One Lounge access).
- Basic Business offers the same onboard Delta One experience at a lower price point. With a Basic Business ticket, customers receive:
    - Zone 1 boarding
    - 180-degree lie-flat seats, with privacy suites onboard select aircraft
    - Chef-curated, three-course meals served with warm nuts and a curated selection of complimentary beer, spirits and fine wine
    - Hot towel service, plush bedding and a [Missoni amenity kit ](https://news.delta.com/new-delta-one-missoni-amenity-kits-feature-five-seasonal-colors-exclusive-grown-alchemist-skincare)featuring Grown Alchemist skincare products and more
- Basic Business ticket differs from Delta One in the following ways:
    - Seat assignment after check-in
    - Fewer earned miles
    - Reduce checked baggage allowance
    - No access to Delta One Lounge or automatic entry to Delta Sky Clubs with ticket\*
- For customers who value the core onboard Delta One experience (e.g., lie-flat seating, elevated dining options) but place less importance on the check-in and lounge elements and require less flexibility in their travel plans, a Basic Business ticket might be better suited to their preferences.

    ###### *\*Note: Customers flying Basic Business fares will retain access to the Delta One check-in experience and Delta One Lounge through Jan. 18, 2027. Also through Jan. 18, 2027, Gold Medallions and above flying Delta Premium Select Basic on international itineraries will retain access to Delta Sky Clubs through their Medallion Benefits.*

*Delta 360s flying Delta First Basic and Basic Business will retain Sky Club access through their 360 credentials.*

*Following Jan. 18, 2027, customers traveling in Delta First Basic, Delta Premium Select Basic or Basic Business may access Delta Sky Clubs with other access-granting credentials, such as Sky Club membership or an eligible credit card.*

**Can Basic fares for premium products be changed or canceled?**
Yes; Basic tickets can be changed or canceled for a fee and receive an eCredit usable toward a future Delta ticket purchase.

**How do baggage allowances differ for Basic fares across these products?**

- Checked bag allowances for Basic fares vary by market, but typically include one fewer bag than the comparable Classic experience on routes where complimentary checked bags are offered.
- Eligible Delta SkyMiles® American Express Card Members enjoy a first checked bag free on Delta flights worldwide, including for up to 8 additional travel companions on the same reservation. Eligible Basic Card Members can also check a second bag for free on domestic Delta flights. Read more on Card Member [baggage allowances](https://www.delta.com/us/en/baggage/checked-baggage/first-checked-bag-free).

**When and where will these fares be available?**

- **Delta First Basic** is available and flying in select Delta-operated domestic and select Latin markets starting July 8.
- **Delta Premium Select Basic** and **Basic Business** are available for purchase starting July 8, but won’t begin flying until September for domestic and select long-haul international markets.
- Availability will vary by market, route and timing. Where available, the Basic experience will appear in shopping and booking flows in the app, Delta.com, through calling Delta’s Reservations & Care line, and through third-party channels.

For more information and to see if the Basic experience is available in your preferred seat product on your next trip, visit Delta.com or the app. Read more about the expanded Basic offerings [on delta.com](https://www.delta.com/us/en/onboard/onboard-experience/delta-first).
