Mike Medeiros, Delta’s Vice President – Seattle, is earning accolades for his leadership as Delta continues investing in its hub at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Business Briefing, a regionally syndicated radio show heard on Talk Radio 570 KVI in Seattle and Portland, named Medeiros its Fortune 1000 Executive of the Year for his leadership and Delta’s investments in Seattle, which signify the region’s importance on a global scale. The award was voted on by an editorial staff of more than 250 producers nationwide.

"We were impressed by Delta's investment, not only in its Seattle operations, but in the community,” said Dave Bourne, Executive Producer at Alpha Media. “Mike Medeiros has made a significant personal commitment as well, and that impressed our panel."

"Mike is such a great guy, and his passion for what he and his team are doing here is contagious,” said Brian Bushlach, Host of Business Briefing. “We already knew Seattle was a major player in global business, but Delta's decision to invest in this market makes it official.”

“Representing Delta people in Seattle has been one of the most rewarding times in my career, and it is with great pride that I get to work with leaders in Seattle each day and share our story,” Medeiros said. “Our Seattle employees are to be applauded for the tremendous work they do each day to put a face to our brand and drive our success here amidst unprecedented growth. Together, we are bringing competition to customers in this region and becoming engrained in this community. 2016 is going to be our best year yet.”

Delta has grown from 24 peak-day departures to nine destinations in the first quarter of 2013 to more than 150 peak-day departures to more than 40 destinations by summer 2016. Delta’s growth and the competition it brought to the market have driven hundreds of millions of dollars in economic benefit to the region.
