The new Delta Sky Club at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport was named a 2017 Magellan Gold Award winner in the Airport Lounge Category by Travel Weekly, on the heels of winning two other awards this year. In May, the Club won the highly-coveted International Yacht and Aviation Award in the Airport Lounge category, and just last month it was named "North America's Leading Airport Lounge 2017" as a part of the World Travel Awards.
This year's Magellan Awards were selected by a panel of 18 travel industry experts and leaders from a variety of disciplines, who noted the high quality of the submissions.
"Recognition from our customers and travel industry experts speaks to the care that went into designing every aspect of this Club," said Claude Roussel, Managing Director – Delta Sky Clubs. "This marks our third award of the year for Delta Sky Club in Seattle and reflects the unique, relaxing and enjoyable experience and atmosphere we strive to provide our guests in Seattle and across the network."
The Club – which opened in the fall of 2016 – is the third largest in Delta's network and has some incredible features that highlight the local surroundings while creating a space for guests to recharge during their travel, including:
Amazing views of Mt. Rainier that greet guests as they enter Delta Sky Club
Club design inspired by the Pacific Northwest, complemented by engaging artwork from local and regional artists
Fresh food offerings developed in partnership with renowned local chef Ethan Stowell, paired with seasonal cocktails and wine selected by Delta's Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson
"With the thoughtful features of the Seattle Delta Sky Club, guests are able to tailor their own experience – whether they want to socialize at the bar, catch up on emails or explore the artwork in the Club, there's something for everyone," said Marc Ferguson, General Manager – Delta Sky Clubs.
Along with the Seattle Club, the airline has made innovative investments in its customer engagement and loyalty programs, including SkyMiles, which was recently named a Best Travel Rewards program by U.S. News & World Report, to provide even greater value to customers. Industry-leading new partnerships with brands like Lyft and Airbnb allow customers to easily earn miles with everyday purchases, alongside the recently-announced new Delta Blue SkyMiles American Express Credit Card for the new and casual traveler.
