About a hundred or so sentimental aviation enthusiasts traveled both near and far to gather in Atlanta to watch the MD-88s and MD-90s fly for the very last time. The final flights brought back fond memories of the aircraft known among the aviation world as the Mad Dogs and its service to Delta customers and crew for the past thirty years. Enthusiasts reminisced and shared memories in the gatehouse prior to the final departures.

Those in attendance photographed, waved and clapped as the veteran aircraft departed for Arkansas to celebrate their well-deserved retirement.
