1. Most scheduled flights to/from Florida will resume as Atlanta resets; no additional cancels expected
On Monday, Delta canceled about 140 flights for Tuesday given Irma’s impact across Georgia and Florida. With work done behind the scenes to stabilize Delta’s operation Monday, no additional cancels are expected today.
2. Aircraft catering may still be affected Tuesday on some flights
As Delta works to reset its Atlanta hub operation Tuesday, Catering operations also may be affected. This may require reductions in or changes to regular in-flight meal and beverage service. Delta is working on a number of alternative catering options, including grab-and-go offerings on select flights.
3. Use delta.com to change travel plans if you’re ticketed to, from or through an Irma-affected area through Sept. 20
Customers are are encouraged to use delta.com to change their travel plans without penalty as needed.
4. Fees are waived for travel changes, baggage and pets in cabin
Delta has combined and consolidated waivers for customers transiting three dozen destinations where flights will be affected by Irma through Sept. 20 and the airline has paused baggage and pet-in-cabin fees for customers traveling to or from impacted cities until Sept. 15. Additionally, free in-flight Wi-Fi is available through Gogo on all Delta flights to and from Florida through Wednesday.
5. One-way nonstop fares to and from south Florida are temporarily capped
Last week, Delta capped one-way nonstop fares in all cabins at $399 for flights to and from south Florida through Sept. 17.*
*The information on fare caps has been updated.
