Delta employees tested thousands of garments from the new uniform to ensure they fit just right when the full ensemble rolls out in 2018. But what happens to those tested garments? Delta's uniform team came up with a clever idea to give them new life.
“When we finished wear testing our new uniforms, we realized we had thousands of garments that could not be worn again,” said Ekrem Dimbiloglu, Director – Airport Customer Service. “We wanted to find the best way possible to recycle those garments.”
In a video, Dimbiloglu explains how Delta, in partnership with Lands’ End, worked with fabric recycling company MartexFiber to put the wear-tested uniforms back to use.
