With a company culture that puts people first, Delta is working to eliminate barriers for women in the workplace.
Delta works to create an environment that both empowers women and ensures their voices are heard and valued equally. In 2019, the airline again achieved 100 percent pay parity for women.
Delta provides several opportunities for employees to join the movement for women's equality.
The SHE Business Resource Group serves as a place for employees of all genders to engage in conversations about women in the workplace. In May, SHE went international by launching a branch in the Europe, Middle East, Africa, India region.
Delta also just recently launched SHE Leads IT, a network of women in tech providing leadership development for current and future female leaders facing unique challenges.
In addition to empowering Delta women around the globe, Delta is igniting generational change by creating a pipeline of young girls pursing aviation. This includes sparking interest in the industry, spreading awareness of professional opportunities and supporting young women through their decision-making process.
"This is not just a matter of waiting on the pipeline that feels ready for a career in the aviation industry," said Keyra Johnson, Delta's Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer. "This is about us reaching further back into the pipeline and actually creating the interest."
Delta is fueling career interest among female middle school and high school students through programs such as Propel, Solo Flight Academy, Aviation Career Education Academy and the all-female WING Flight -"Women Inspiring the Next Generation."
