Following Monday’s single-aircraft accident involving Delta Connection Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, Ed joined CBS Mornings Wednesday to express gratitude for the crew and commend their professionalism.

“Our Endeavor crew performed heroically, but also as expected,” said Ed. “The reality is that safety is embedded into our system.”

Ed continued, sharing that the extensive training of crews and a commitment to safety ensures that flying remains one of the safest forms of transportation.

“We’re a very competitive industry across the U.S. airlines, but there’s one thing we do not compete on, and that’s safety,” said Ed. “We all work together, and we all learn from each other.”

Delta teams continue to provide support to customers, employees and loved ones impacted by Delta Connection Flight 4819 operated by Endeavor Air. In total, 21 injured passengers were initially transported to local hospitals. As of Wednesday morning, only one customer remains in hospital.
