Ftira

Ftira is more than just perfectly chewy bread dough – it’s historical. This traditional Maltese dough was given UNESCO recognition and is traditionally served as a sandwich (also called ftira), or in some places, topped with things like Maltese cheeselets, sausage and tomatoes.

Recommendation: Try one of the several traditional ftajjar options from Ta’Nenu in Valletta.
