Sharing in Delta’s success is fundamental to the Delta culture - and there is no greater example of that than the airline’s profit-sharing payout.

Thanks to the collective hard work and resilience of Delta’s 100,000 people, eligible employees will receive their share of $1.4 billion in Delta’s 2023 profits, which will be paid out next month on Valentine’s Day.

Delta’s strong 2023 earnings and the profit-sharing payout are direct results of the exceptional work and commitment of Delta’s people throughout a challenging operational year. In 2023, Delta grew its network by double digits, operated the airline’s largest ever trans-Atlantic schedule over the summer, closed out the year with two successful holiday periods, and served nearly 200 million customers worldwide. Additionally, for the third year in a row, Delta was awarded Cirium’s Platinum Award for operational excellence and topped the rankings for being the most on-time airline in North America.

“No one deserves to share in our success more than the 100,000 Delta people who make it happen every single day,” said Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Air Lines. “It’s our people that set us apart, and their hard work, professionalism and commitment to excellence that makes this well-deserved profit sharing possible.”

Shared success is core to Delta’s values, and profit sharing is a key element of Delta’s commitment to industry-leading total compensation for industry-leading performance.

Delta sets the bar by sharing more of the company’s success with employees than any other airline.

Since 2015, Delta has rewarded employees with over $8 billion in profit sharing. This is the seventh year Delta will pay over $1 billion in profit sharing. From 2014-2019 Delta paid over $1 billion in profit sharing each year.

Delta’s industry-leading profit-sharing program is just one of the many ways the airline invests in its people financially. Delta offers competitive base pay with annual pay increases, monthly Shared Rewards for achieving operational goals, free financial coaching with the ability to earn $1,000 for emergency savings, generous contributions to 401(k) retirement savings, and much more.

“Delta people continue to deliver on our goals to lead the industry, and we're pleased and proud to reward these accomplishments with industry-leading profit sharing,” said Joanne Smith, Delta Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer. “To Delta people around the world, thank you. You are the Delta Difference and the primary reason our customers continue to choose Delta. We look forward to celebrating our shared success this Valentine’s Day and every day.”
