Today, Delta’s Atlanta hub became a little more legendary.
Delta Air Lines and the Atlanta Braves officially dedicated Gate A25 at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in honor of Andruw Jones. The Hall of Fame center fielder, who wore the number 25 throughout his career with the Braves, played 12 seasons with the team, making him one of the most beloved players in Atlanta baseball history.
In a ceremony at Terminal A, Jones was joined by Delta and Braves leadership for a ribbon cutting and the unveiling of a permanent commemorative plaque at Gate A25, complete with Delta and Atlanta Braves memorabilia from the 90s and early 2000s — a throwback to Andruw’s iconic career with the Atlanta Braves. The commemorative plaque will remain permanently installed at the gate.
"Andruw Jones is a legend in our city and in baseball history," said Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Air Lines. "We are proud to be Atlanta’s hometown airline and to honor Andruw's career with this permanent tribute.”
The dedication at ATL is timed to coincide with Jones's 2026 National Baseball Hall of Fame induction, recognizing the full arc of a career that began with one of the most unforgettable World Series appearances in history.
“Delta Air Lines has been a valued partner of the Braves since the team came to Atlanta back in 1966, and we are incredibly proud to deepen our relationship with meaningful opportunities like this gate dedication,” said Derek Schiller, Atlanta Braves President & CEO. “We are thankful to Delta for flying our team safely throughout the season and for all that they do to serve the community. Gate A25 will forever be a celebration of our partnership and Andruw Jones’ epic impact on our team and this city.”
Delta and The Braves: A partnership that extends far beyond the ballpark
Delta and the Atlanta Braves have been partners since the franchise arrived in Atlanta in 1966, a relationship that now spans nearly six decades. In 2026, the two organizations extended that partnership through the 2035 season, keeping Delta as the Official Airline Partner of the Atlanta Braves.
Throughout the nearly 60-year partnership, Delta has carried the Atlanta Braves to every away game and created fan experiences at Truist Park, including the Delta SKY360° Club, a 17,000-square-foot premium hospitality space behind home plate, and the Delta Parking Deck, marked by a 25-foot Delta tailfin that has become a landmark for fans arriving for home games.
Over the years, Delta has also honored Braves legends with commemorative aircraft, including planes dedicated to Hank Aaron, Bobby Cox and Chipper Jones, and a World Champions plane following Atlanta's 2021 World Series title.
The dedication of Gate A25 is the latest expression of a partnership built on a shared love for Atlanta, one that has grown alongside the city for nearly 60 years and is built to last through 2035 and beyond.
