Delta sponsorship as official airline of the ACEA Run Rome the Marathon 2024
Delta is the Official Airline of the Acea Run Rome The Marathon 2024, the first time Delta will showcase the brand at this iconic event in one of the world’s most historic cities.
In the run up to the March 17 marathon, Delta will set up a dedicated “Walk in Stand” at the Expo Village in the Palazzo dei Congressi from March 15-16, where the airline will be showcasing its Delta One cabin and onboard amenities, as well as its partnership with Spotify. As part of the activation, passers-by can add their favorite song to a marathon “Run to the Beat” playlist, which will be part of participating runners’ digital kit and be available on Spotify.
"Delta is proud to sponsor the Rome Marathon for the first time. It’s an iconic event in the annual marathon calendar where runners have the opportunity to step where Roman Emperors and gladiators have stepped before and run with the backdrop of the wondrous attractions of the Eternal City,” said Matteo Curcio, Delta’s Senior Vice President-EMEAI.
Delta has a strong commitment to sustainability, a core priority for its business. As part of its role with the Rome marathon, the airline will collect the plastic bottles disposed of during the event. These bottles will take on a new life to create a special art piece in the form of a mosaic created by Studio Cassio, a local artist studio dedicated to the traditional craft of mosaic making. The final design and artwork will be unveiled on June 2, marking the 25th anniversary of Delta’s first flight from Atlanta to the Italian Capital and will be displayed at Rome Fiumicino Airport.
Delta is the leading airline between Italy and the United States. The carrier flies from Rome to New York-JFK, Atlanta, Boston and Detroit with flights daily. Delta also connects Milan and Venice to New York-JFK and Atlanta and will inaugurate a new flight from Naples to New York-JFK on May 25.
