Delta’s commitment to education takes a Detroit native from Spelman College to the world in ‘Dreams in Motion’

In recognition of International Education Month, Delta celebrates the power of global learning in “Dreams in Motion,” a short film series debuting Dec. 1 on Delta seatback screens and YouTube.  

“Dreams in Motion” highlights the inspiring journey of Alexandria Greenlee, from humble beginnings in Detroit -- raised by a single father -- to the legacy of Spelman College, and now the continental classroom of the Schwarzman Scholars program. Her story is a testament to Delta’s enduring commitment to the communities we serve, the power of partnerships, and our belief that education unlocks potential and transforms lives. 

Through the Schwarzman Scholars program, Delta fuels the development of globally minded leaders who can navigate complex international challenges and build bridges across cultures. Each year, we support up to 200 scholars embarking on a prestigious one-year, fully funded master’s program in global affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing, one of the world's top universities. And through other educational partnerships with United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and Spelman College, we support various initiatives to equip future leaders to shape the world with purpose.  

From her first year at Spelman, Alexandria benefited from UNCF, an organization that has helped countless students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities pursue higher education. Through our decades-long partnership with UNCF, Delta has contributed scholarships, mentorship and opportunities that empower students, especially women of color, to dream beyond boundaries and shape meaningful careers. 

During International Education Week, Delta celebrates stories like Alexandria’s and JA Africa’s scholars in Akwaaba. They serve as proof that when we invest in education, we invest in infinite possibilities.
