Just when you thought you had explored every corner of your coffee obsession, your favorite loyalty partners, Delta Air Lines and Starbucks, are brewing up The In-Air Coffeehouse – a first-of-its-kind experience available exclusively for SkyMiles Members.
From Dec. 16-18, the experience will bring select Members from Atlanta to Costa Rica on an exclusive immersive flight that transforms the in-flight experience into a cozy coffeehouse at 30,000 feet, welcoming guests to Hacienda Alsacia, Starbucks coffee and innovation farm, where they will be immersed in the coffee bean-to-cup journey through activities curated just for them.
For a chance to win seats on The In-Air Coffeehouse, eligible Members and a friend can enter together from Oct. 27 through Nov. 3 – no miles needed* — through Group Drop on SkyMiles Experiences. The In-Air Coffeehouse: What to expect
The In-Air Coffeehouse will depart from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) on Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. ET, arriving at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in the afternoon. Members will board a chartered aircraft and find themselves in a reimagined cabin that blends hospitality and coffee heritage. As the flight unfolds, customers will be invited to engage with interactive moments, including a guided coffee tasting hosted by Starbucks baristas— all thoughtfully layered into the journey while keeping safety top of mind.
“Coffee is at the heart of everything we do,” said Erin Silvoy, SVP, Global Marketing at Starbucks. “Partnering with Delta on this unforgettable experience gives us a unique opportunity to celebrate the journey of Starbucks coffee—from bean to cup—starting at our Hacienda Alsacia farm in Costa Rica. Every detail of the In-Air Coffeehouse is inspired by the same craft and connection that defines our coffee culture.”
Upon arrival in Costa Rica, guests will be brought to their accommodations in Belén for a relaxing evening. The following day, after a morning of optional yoga, a full day of curated programming awaits on the slopes of Poás Volcano at Hacienda Alsacia.
There, surrounded by over 800,000 coffee trees, Members will enjoy opportunities to:
- Immerse in the bean-to-cup journey through guided tours of the coffee fields and hands-on experiences at the farm.
- Deepen their love of coffee with exclusive Starbucks coffee tastings and food pairings found only at Hacienda Alsacia.
- Connect with Costa Rican culture through authentic cuisine and entertainment.
“As Delta soars into our next 100 years of flight, we’re more passionate than ever about making the world feel a little smaller by connecting our customers to the people, places and experiences they love,” said Alicia Tillman, Chief Marketing Officer at Delta. “There’s no better duo for travelers and coffee lovers than Delta and Starbucks, and this first-of-its-kind experience is a celebration of what happens when we come together and do what we do best.”
