Delta celebrates National Philanthropy Day by harnessing the power of community
For National Philanthropy Day (Nov. 15) and Philanthropy Month, Delta joins organizations around the world in recognizing the spirit of generosity and the power of collective impact on communities we support.
Every day, Delta people make a difference, using welcoming, caring, and elevated service as a vehicle to spark joy and connection. For National Philanthropy Day (Nov. 15) and Philanthropy Month, we join organizations around the world in recognizing the spirit of generosity and the power of collective impact on communities we support.
National Philanthropy Day
Earlier this month, Delta was a proud sponsor of the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ (AFP) National Philanthropy Day celebration in Atlanta, honoring people and organizations who turn compassion into action. The event brought together leaders, nonprofits, and corporate partners who share a belief that giving time, talent, or resources fuel progress and connects communities.
Delta’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Amelia Deluca, opened the program with remarks acknowledging Delta’s 100th anniversary and our commitment to prioritize sustainability and taking care of communities where we live, work and serve.
“As we commemorate our Centennial year, we have seen and demonstrated the power of people coming together,” Deluca said. “Philanthropy isn’t just about giving back; it’s about lifting up. It is harnessing the collective energy of thousands of employees, partners, and neighbors to create something bigger than any of us could achieve alone.”
Empowering employees to give back
People are at the heart of everything we do at Delta, and their passion for service drives meaningful change. Through our employee giving and volunteer programs, team members across the globe dedicate thousands of hours each year to causes they care about most, from supporting youth and education to advancing sustainability and disaster response.
In honor of its Centennial year, Delta’s philanthropy efforts nearly tripled for Global Volunteer Month during the month of April—more than 150 community events and over 8,600 hours of service were completed around the world. Overall, in 2025, Delta Air Lines and The Delta Air Lines Foundation contributed $73 million in charitable funds, activated over 400 volunteer events with the help of over 30,000 volunteers, and supported over 500 community partners on five continents.
