Consistent with Delta policy, the airline began proactively capping fares for new bookings on Sunday, Oct. 6 for customers looking to fly out of Milton’s forecast path.

Fare for 12 cities in Florida were capped in a range based on distance flown. Additional flights and larger aircraft are being used today where possible, including at Sarasota-Bradenton Airport (SRQ).

Delta is also affording more flexibility for customers with existing bookings to cancel or to change their flights waiving the fare difference based on a travel waiver.

The safety of Delta’s people and customers is of paramount concern for the airline as it considers flight delays, cancellations and the resumption of service when the storm passes, in coordination with local officials. Resumption of flight schedules will happen as soon as possible after a thorough safety assessment of local infrastructure and conditions.

Delta encourages customers to watch their flight status closely on delta.com or the Fly Delta app. Delta’s Operations and Customer Center (OCC) works to give customers as much notice as possible about changes to their flights. Customers can also have updates sent directly to their mobile device or by email.

In addition to Delta's $1M annual contribution to the American Red Cross, the airline contributed $500,000 for Helene relief efforts and will do the same for Milton, for a total of $1M in additional support. Customers can support relief efforts for hurricane victims by donating through Delta's customer microsite, created in partnership with the Red Cross. Donations will go toward immediate relief needs.
