Delta Air Lines introduces exclusive TelevisaUnivision content onboard
As part of the Hispanic heritage month collection, Delta will introduce a range of content from TelevisaUnivision across its in-flight entertainment, beginning with a variety of films in September and expanding to include television series in October.
Delta Air Lines, in collaboration with Aeromexico, is thrilled to announce the launch of a new on-board entertainment offering, featuring exclusive content from TelevisaUnivision. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, passengers flying with Delta throughout September and October will have the opportunity to enjoy a special, limited-time selection of popular TV shows and movies from one of the premier media companies in the Spanish-speaking world.
As part of the Hispanic heritage month collection, Delta will introduce a range of content from TelevisaUnivision across its in-flight entertainment, beginning with a variety of films in September and expanding to include television series in October. This marks an exciting enhancement to Delta’s onboard entertainment, providing passengers with even more diverse and culturally relevant options during their flights.
Content lineup
The initial offering will feature a selection of both classic and contemporary content from TelevisaUnivision. Starting in September, passengers can enjoy films such as:
- Presencias (2022): Mexican horror film directed by Luis Mandoki. After the death of his wife, a widower moves to a cabin in the woods to deal with his grief. However, strange paranormal events lead him to question his sanity, which become more intense and terrifying; uncovering dark secrets related to his past and the death of his wife.
- Me vuelves loca (2023): It is a romantic comedy directed by José Manuel Cravioto. Two people with opposite personalities, who, due to unexpected circumstances, end up sharing a road trip. Along the way, they face a series of chaotic yet funny situations that lead them to get to know each other better, developing feelings and testing their way of conceiving relationships and love.
- La absoluta (2022): It is a documentary written and directed by Jorge Laplace. It is the story of a sports team and each of its members, exploring their dreams, challenges, victories and defeats over the years, which led them to become one of the best in the world.
In October, customers will have the opportunity to enjoy episodes including:
- María Félix (S1/E1: Una Mujer con Corazón de Hombre): This is the story of a woman ahead of her time, who faced a man's world and earned her place. With spectacular beauty, dressed in trousers, an arched eyebrow, and a deep voice, she became the ultimate diva of Mexican cinema.
- Reconexión México (S1/E1: Guanajuato): Join Aarón Díaz on an incredible journey through Mexico. With special guests, he will uncover hidden treasures, dive into nature, and connect with local communities. *Reconexión* offers adventure, fun, and an immersive experience in the heart of Mexico.
- Ganar es Todo (S1/E1: Club América vs Chivas)
A strategic partnership
This new offering is part of a broader strategic partnership between Delta and Aeromexico, aimed at ehancing the travel experience for passengers across both airlines. Through their Joint Cooperation Agreement (JCA), Delta and Aeromexico have worked together to provide more seamless connectivity between the United States and Mexico, while also investing in customer experience improvements.
Bringing global content from TelevisaUnivision is a key component of enhancing the in-flight experience for global travelers, allowing the airlines to offer entertainment that resonates with a wide audience, particularly Spanish-speaking travelers. This collaboration is initially being rolled out as a content trial, with the potential to expand the partnership based on passenger feedback and engagement.
